Midlothian is where we spend more Saturdays than anywhere else in Chesterfield County, and the reason is the housing stock: large late-1990s through 2010s homes on wooded lots, most of them a mix of vinyl and brick-veneer front, nearly all of them with a big driveway and a lot of concrete around the back.

What we see in Midlothian
The subdivisions off Robious Road and Huguenot were built into mature hardwood, and that tree cover is the whole story. North-facing walls in Salisbury, Bellgrade and the neighbourhoods around Robious Landing barely see direct sun between May and September, and they grow a green film every single year. Homeowners who wash the front and skip the back are usually surprised how different the two sides look.
The second thing is pool decks. A lot of Midlothian homes have one, and pool surrounds collect a specific combination of sunscreen residue, organic debris and algae in the textured surface that a garden hose will not touch. Broom-finished and stamped concrete both need lower pressure than a plain driveway, which is where DIY attempts tend to leave permanent marks.
Third is the driveways themselves. Long approaches off Midlothian Turnpike catch a lot of winter salt and cinder grit, and the first ten feet from the street is almost always the worst section on the property.
